Directions from I-90 and the Rapid City airport:

 

I-90 from the East:

Exit to US 16 truck bypass (Elk Vale Road), exit # 61, right exit, left over the Interstate, there will be a McDonalds on the left just past the Interstate.

Take US 16 bypass to US 16 (Mt. Rushmore Road), there will be a large water slide on the left.

Left on US 16 towards Mt Rushmore, Hill City and Custer.

 

I-90 from the West:

Exit to US 16 and I-190 (Mt Rushmore Road), exit # 57, right exit, proceed to traffic light at Omaha St.

Left on Omaha to next traffic light (8th Avenue and Mt Rushmore road).

Right on Mt Rushmore Road and US 16 towards Mt Rushmore, Hill City and Custer.

 

From the airport:

Right on Hwy 44 to the West to Hwy 16 bypass (Campbell Avenue). From 44, turn left (South) onto Hwy 16 bypass

South on Hwy 16 to US 16 (Mt Rushmore Road), there will be a large water slide on the left.

Left on US 16 towards Mt Rushmore, Hill City and Custer.

 

Each of these directions above will put you on Hwy 16 towards Mt Rushmore, Hill City and Custer.

Stay on Hwy 16 towards Hill City, it will become a combination 16 and 385. You will continue in southwesterly direction, however, directions change rapidly through this area. You will pass exits to Mt. Rushmore, but you want to stay on Hwy 16.

Hwy 16 and 385 will take you past the Crazy horse monument to Custer.

In Custer, there will be a traffic light at the bottom of a hill, take a right at this traffic light, you are still on combination 16 and 385.

You are headed approximately west now for about 1 mile to the next traffic light.

385 and 16 split here w/ 16 continuing west into Wyoming and 385 angling south towards Hot Springs.

Take a left at this light onto 385 towards Hot Springs.

Take 385 south approximately 11-12 miles to Pringle and hwy 89.

Take a right on hwy 89 (it only goes to the right, the intersection is just beyond Pringle)

Take hwy 89 six miles south, again, directions change rapidly because you are still in mountains, albeit, foothills here.

Take a right on West Argyle Rd, the sign will say Argyle Rd to the left, we don't have a sign pointing to the right, but the intersection is marked W.  Argyle, there’s a mailbox with a horse and rider sitting on the top, take a right here.  This is a gravel road, take it for 1.5 miles, cross 3 cattle guards. You will come to a fork in the road, veer to the left for approximately ¼ mile, our driveway is on the left and there is a sign for Country Charm Cabins ……

From the south:

 

Take Hwy 385 north to Hot Springs.

At Hot Springs, take US 18 west, towards Edgemont. (there will be a couple of gas stations and a casino at the intersection where you want to turn west. Both 18 and 385 turn west into downtown Hot Springs, then 18 will turn to the west out of town and 385 will go north out of town.

Take 18 approximately 10 miles to State hwy 89. This is called Minnekahta Junction.

Take a right on 89, heading approximately north now.

Take 89 for approximately 9 miles to West Argyle Rd.

Take a left on West Argyle Rd, the sign will say Argyle Rd to the right, we don't have a sign pointing to the left, but the intersection is marked W. Argyle.  This is a gravel road, take it for 1.5 miles, cross 3 cattle guards. You will come to a fork in the road, veer to the left for approximately ¼ mile, our driveway is on the left and there is a sign for Country Charm Cabins ……

From Southwest Wyoming/Colorado, etc.

 

Take I 25 north to Orin (just before Douglas)

Take combination US18 and 20 east to Lusk.

US 18 joins US 85 at Lusk and turns north.

Stay on US-18 into SD, through Edgemont.

Approx 11-12 miles past Edgemont, take a left on to State route 89.

Take 89 for approximately 9 miles to West Argyle Rd.

Take a left on West Argyle Rd, the sign will say Argyle Rd to the right, we don't have a sign pointing to the left, but the intersection is marked W. Argyle.  This is a gravel road, take it for 1.5 miles, cross 3 cattle guards. You will come to a fork in the road, veer to the left for approximately ¼ mile, our driveway is on the left and there is a sign for Country Charm Cabins ……

Directions from Mickelson Trail

 

Coming from the south (Edgemont/Minnekahta Junction)

 

Approximately ½ mile north of Mile Marker 25,

(Approximately 9 miles north of Minnekahta Trail Head)

Take a left onto gravel road

Follow this road approximately ½ mile to first intersection.

Take a left at this intersection, you will cross a cattle guard.

Take this road approximately ½ mile to Highway 89, blacktop road.

Cross 89, you are now on West Argyle road.

Follow West Argyle Road for approximately 1 mile.

You will cross 3 cattle guards.

When you come to a Y in the road, go to the left.

Our driveway will be about ¼ mile on your left.

A Country Charm sign will be at our driveway.

 

Coming from the north (Custer/Pringle)

 

Approximately ½ mile south of Mile Marker 27,

(Approximately 5 miles south of Pringle, you will come to a gravel pit on the right that is next to the Mickelson trail. Immediately after this, you will pass under Highway 89, the only blacktop road).

Approximately 1 mile after overpass, take a right onto gravel road that crosses the Mickelson trail

Follow this road approximately ½ mile to first intersection.

Take a right at this intersection, you will cross a cattle guard.

Take this road approximately ½ mile to Highway 89, blacktop road.

Cross 89, you are now on West Argyle road.

Follow West Argyle Road for approximately 1 mile.

You will cross 3 cattle guards.

When you come to a Y in the road, go to the left.

Our driveway will be about ¼ mile on your left.

A Country Charm sign will be at our driveway.
